Garment Technologist & Quality Controller The Role As an Established Garment Technologist, specialising in Denim and knitwear, you’ll act as a member of the Red Ox Technical team, working closely with the design and buying departments to assure the fit and quality of our product along with its technical capabilities from first sample through to delivery.
The role reports into the Head of buying Technical but works in an autonomous way, so it requires a self-motivator who can take ownership of their responsibilities and lead a team. You will work collaboratively with the Buying, Design, Digital and Fabric teams in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, so it’s essential that you have strong technical experience, combined with great organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize a busy workload.
The Garment Technologist will be responsible for ensuring a consistent fit throughout our collection and strive to elevate and constantly evaluate the quality of our product and improve the fit of the garment.
Key responsibilities include:
Working closely with our design and buying team to successfully interpret seasonal design needs and look to maximize sales through optimizing our size ranges Conducting product fit sessions with designers and buyers on development, pre-production and production samples communicating fit comments and specifications to suppliers and agents promptly Managing the sealing process, promoting a ‘right first time’ approach to sealing submission Partner with the Head of Technical to resolve any issues or bottlenecks and ensure that samples are prioritised in line with critical path requirements Analyse fabric test reports, request, review and approve bulk size specifications as required We’d love to meet someone with… Significant experience in an Established/Garment Technologist role, with extensive knowledge of Denim and knitwear Passionate about the role and driving high standards of quality and sample inspection within your department(s) Expert knowledge of pattern cutting and grading Significate experience of working within a high street retailer and/or supplier / manufacturer Understand product construction and suitability for mass production Understand how to adapt product to minimise costs
Manage the product development process from first fit through to production, liaising with design, buying, merchandising, suppliers, franchise, international, supply chain and E-Commerce as required
Strong communication and networking skills across all levels and stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships across the business and with suppliers Reliable, flexible, and good at leading a fast-paced team Good working knowledge of MS Office Strong leadership, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
Salary: Rs100,000.00 – Rs130,000.00 per month
